Double Biology Success for Leicester High School for Girls

Pupils at Leicester High School for Girls are celebrating an exceptional double success in national Biology competitions organised by the Royal Society of Biology.
In the Biology Challenge, aimed at pupils aged 13 to 15, students achieved an impressive set of results:
🥇 1 Gold
🥈 2 Silver
🥉 4 Bronze
🎖️ 4 Highly Commended
🎖️ 4 Commended
Over 42,000 students from across the UK took part in this year’s competition, which tests not only curriculum knowledge but also the ability to think biologically in unfamiliar contexts. The results reflect the School’s commitment to sparking curiosity and deepening scientific understanding beyond the classroom.
Meanwhile, Year 12 pupils also excelled in the Intermediate Biology Olympiad, a prestigious challenge for post-GCSE students. Out of a group of 15 pupils:

Mrs Helen Rai, Head of Biology at Leicester High, said:
