Leicester High Pupils Perform at De Montfort Hall

Pupils from Leicester High School for Girls joined over 300 young singers from primary and secondary schools across the region on stage at De Montfort Hall for a remarkable performance of Henry Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas.

The special event was held in collaboration with the world-renowned Gabrieli Consort and Players, as part of their Gabrieli Roar initiative – a choral training and performance programme that gives young people the opportunity to experience large-scale music-making of the highest calibre.

The pupils took to the iconic stage alongside professional musicians in what proved to be an unforgettable evening of Baroque music and artistic excellence.

Leicester High School for Girls' Head of Music, Ruth Proctor said:

“This was an extraordinary opportunity for our pupils – to perform in such a professional and inspirational environment."

The performance reinforced Leicester High’s ongoing commitment to the performing arts and providing transformative experiences beyond the classroom.
