Year 7 Discover Ecosystems at the Botanical Gardens

Our Year 7 students spent an enjoyable day at the Botanical Gardens as part of their Biology topic on ecosystems.
Exploring the gardens together, the girls took part in a range of hands-on activities designed to bring their classroom learning to life. They investigated different tree species, using scientific methods to estimate their height and age, while learning how to identify key features of each species.
As they explored the gardens, the students discovered more about the relationships between living things and their environments, observing biodiversity first-hand through the wide variety of plants and habitats on display.
The visit gave the girls the opportunity to develop their practical fieldwork skills, work collaboratively and ask thoughtful questions about the natural world around them.
It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and curiosity throughout the day as they deepened their understanding of ecosystems beyond the classroom.
