Writer Qualifies for National Competition

Girls gain 1st and 2nd place in Rotary Regionals and one qualifies for Nationals...

Over the last few weeks, the winning LHS entries from the 2014-15 Leicester Rotary Club competition have gone through to the prestigious District Competition judging round. The results have arrived in school and 2 of our girls have achieved further success thanks to their inspired “Light Up Your Community” accounts. Tiger Ginn (Year 9) came second in the Intermediate Section of the competition, whilst Verity Howell in Year 11 won first prize in the Senior Section, and, as a result, her entry has now been submitted to the Rotary International competition for Great Britain and Ireland. Special congratulations go to both girls, who so impressed the judges with their creative flair and imaginative plans to transform their local communities. They have been invited to a special presentation lunch on Saturday 20 June at Kettering Buccleuch Academy, where they will receive their certificates and awards.
