Shakespeare Festival at Curve
30 girls from Y6-12 perform Macbeth brilliantly at Curve....
Thirty girls from Years 6-12 entered the Schools' Shakespeare Festival at Curve, for the third time, this year. Performing scenes from Macbeth to a sold out theatre, they impressed all with their dramatic and faultless performance.
Mrs Rose said, 'We were extremely lucky to have the opportunity to perform in the Shakespeare Schools Festival, which is the largest youth drama festival in the world. Performing Macbeth and sharing the highs of performing in a professional theatre with three other talented schools was an unforgettable experience. As a result, we all have many memories and friendships that will last a lifetime. The girls were exemplary and a credit to the School and their parents, who I would like to thank for their continued support.'
The girls commented, 'We performed a thirty minute Macbeth alongside three other schools. It was an amazing experience that we will remember forever. Being part of such a wonderful and accomplished cast made us very proud to be part of the evening. The passion and committment of everyone made it that much more enjoyable. One of our favourite moments was working with the Dorothy Goodman School for the cast workshop. It was an unforgettable experience that helped the whole cast grow and expand their love for theatre.'
Many congratulations to all those who took part, and special thanks to Mrs Rose who initiated the School's involvement with the festival and who continues to source excititng opportunities to stretch the girls' skills and learning.
