Bursaries and Scholarships Fund

Opening doors at Leicester High School for Girls

At Leicester High School for Girls, we believe that a girl’s potential — not her financial circumstances — should determine her access to an excellent education.

Bursaries enable us to support girls whose families may not otherwise consider independent education, but who would thrive here.

With your support, we can offer more girls this opportunity.

Why it matters

Bursary support enables girls to:

  • Access high-quality teaching and individual support

  • Take part fully in school life, including trips and enrichment

  • Build confidence, independence, and ambition

  • Progress to leading universities and careers

Your support helps ensure that ability and aspiration are recognised — regardless of background.

One bursary can change a girl’s future — and often her family’s future too.

Ways you can help

You can support a pupil by:

  • sponsoring a bursary
  • making a one-off or regular donation
  • leaving a legacy to the School

Every gift makes a difference

  • £50 supports learning resources
  • £250 helps fund enrichment opportunities
  • £1,000 contributes towards a term of bursary support
  • Regular monthly gifts help sustain access for future pupils.

A bursary allowed me to attend Leicester High and apply to study Medicine. I wouldn’t be where I am today without it.

Our Bursary Provision

Funding a full bursary (for those who wish to make a major gift)

While many donors choose to contribute towards bursary support, some may wish to fund a full bursary.
