WISE - Women in Science and Enterprise
For curious minds, ambitious thinkers and future innovators.
At Leicester High School for Girls, we believe that young women should have the confidence, knowledge and opportunities to pursue their ambitions, wherever they may lead.
Our WISE (Women in Science and Enterprise) initiative is designed to inspire and support the next generation of scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals and innovators.
What is WISE?
WISE is an exciting part of our Sixth Form offering, bringing together Science, Technology, Mathematics and Enterprise in a supportive, ambitious learning environment.
Through specialist teaching, enrichment activities, industry connections and personalised careers guidance, students are encouraged to think beyond their A Levels and discover where their talents could take them.
Whether they aspire to study Medicine, explore Engineering, develop new technologies or pursue a career in business, WISE provides the encouragement and opportunities to help them succeed.
We want our girls to see that there are no limits to what they can achieve in science, technology and enterprise. WISE gives them the confidence, experiences and encouragement to aim high.

Supporting your ambitions
Every student's journey is different, and at Leicester High School for Girls, we take the time to understand each girl's aspirations.
Whether preparing for Medicine, applying to a leading university, considering a degree apprenticeship or exploring career possibilities, students receive individual support to help them make informed decisions about their futures.
This includes guidance with university applications, personal statements, admissions tests and interviews.
I am interested in studying Medicine, and having teachers who know my ambitions and help me work towards them makes such a difference.
Why WISE? Why Leicester High?
Because ambition deserves encouragement.
As a girls' school, we provide an environment where young women are encouraged to ask questions, take the lead, challenge themselves and explore subjects and careers without limitations.
Our small Sixth Form community means every student is known, valued and inspired to be her best.
WISE builds on these strengths, combining academic support with opportunities to develop the confidence, independence and skills that will serve students long after they leave school.
