Poland History Trip

Our pupils enjoyed a fascinating few days in Poland, combining history, culture and plenty of memorable experiences on their recent trip to Kraków.
One of the most moving parts of the visit was a guided tour of Auschwitz-Birkenau. The girls saw personal belongings including shoes, suitcases and prayer shawls, which brought home the scale and human impact of the Holocaust. It was a sobering experience, and we were incredibly proud of the maturity and respect the girls showed throughout, as well as the thoughtful questions they asked.
The trip also included a very different journey underground at the Wieliczka Salt Mine, where the girls discovered chapels, brine lakes, salt-crystal chandeliers and sculptures carved from rock salt – with a few even trying a lick of the walls!
There was also time to explore Kraków’s beautiful Old Town and Market Square, enjoy some very competitive bowling and share a final evening meal together.
A memorable few days filled with learning, reflection, friendship and fun – and an experience we’re sure the girls won’t forget.
