Leicester High Girls Excel in Cambridge Chemistry Challenge
Leicester High School for Girls is proud to announce the outstanding success of its Chemistry students in this year’s Cambridge Chemistry Challenge, a prestigious national competition which pushes Year 12 pupils well beyond the A-level syllabus.
The girls achieved Silver and Copper awards, with one student just two marks away from Gold. For the school to see so many pupils recognised in such a demanding competition is a remarkable achievement, reflecting not only the talent and determination of the students but also the School’s strong reputation for science.
This follows excellent results in the National Biology Olympiad earlier this year, where Leicester High girls also gained national recognition. Together, these results highlight the way Leicester High consistently supports girls to achieve at the highest levels in STEM.
Head of Chemistry, Mrs Karen Greenwood, praised the students, commenting:
"The Cambridge Chemistry Challenge requires creativity, resilience and a real love of Chemistry. Our girls have shown all of these qualities in abundance, and we are extremely proud of them."
