Year 12 Students Begin Inspiring Visit to Snehalaya in India

A group of our Year 12 students have made an incredible start to their visit to Snehalaya in India, beginning what promises to be a truly life-changing experience.

After an adventure-filled journey, made even more memorable by the monsoon rains, the group arrived safely and were warmly welcomed by everyone at Snehalaya. Since then, they have wasted no time immersing themselves in the charity's work, gaining a first-hand understanding of the support it provides to some of the most vulnerable members of the local community.

On their first full day, the students took part in preparations for the Malala Day celebrations, practising traditional dance performances and leading creative flag-making sessions with children. They also toured a number of Snehalaya's projects, learning more about the charity's work supporting women, children and families through education, healthcare, protection and community development.

The visit is giving students the opportunity to step beyond the classroom and experience a different culture while developing a deeper understanding of global issues. It is helping them build empathy, resilience and confidence as they see first-hand how compassion, education and community support can transform lives.

Throughout the trip, students will continue to work alongside the Snehalaya team, taking part in a range of activities designed to support local projects while learning from the people they meet.

We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, kindness and maturity our students have shown already. They have embraced every opportunity with open minds and positive attitudes, demonstrating the values that make our school community so special.

We would like to thank everyone at Snehalaya for their wonderful welcome and generosity. We look forward to sharing more updates as our students continue this unforgettable journey.
