Local Primary School Pupils Put Their Maths Skills to the Test at Leicester High School for Girls

Pupils from across Leicestershire came together at Leicester High School for Girls for a day of mathematical challenges, teamwork and friendly competition.

Working together, pupils tackled a series of challenging questions that encouraged them to think creatively, communicate their ideas and develop strategies to solve problems.

Senior pupils from Leicester High School for Girls also played an important role in the afternoon, leading activities and supporting the visiting teams as they worked through the challenges. It was a valuable opportunity for the older girls to develop their leadership and communication skills, while encouraging and supporting the younger pupils.

After an afternoon of impressive teamwork and mathematical thinking, Avenue Primary School was crowned the overall winner.

Adam Newell, Head of Maths said,

"It was wonderful to welcome so many enthusiastic young mathematicians to our School. The pupils showed real determination and worked brilliantly together, particularly when faced with some tricky challenges.

"We were also very proud of our senior pupils, who took on leadership roles throughout the afternoon."

Leicester High School for Girls will also be welcoming local primary school pupils to its free Medieval Medicine History Masterclass on Saturday 7 November, offering girls in Years 5 and 6 the chance to step back in time and explore some of the fascinating and unusual medical practices of the Middle Ages.
