Biology Olympiad 2024

Leicester High School for Girls is delighted to announce the outstanding achievements of its students in the British Biology Olympiad Competition 2024.

Among the standout performers are four Year 13 students who clinched Silver: Molly, Simran, Pavneet and Saiya. Furthermore Charlotte and Ayesha secured Bronze. Ayesha’s performance is particularly noteworthy, as she has only been studying A-level Biology since September.

This year the competition attracted 15,000 students worldwide and consisted of two 45 minute multiple-choice papers taken online.

Head of Biology Mrs Rai, said, “We are delighted with the results in what is a challenging competition. It is great to see the pupils’ commitment to the subject and their desire to stretch themselves beyond the confines of their current study.”

Biology is a popular subject at Leicester High School for girls and the department is a well-resourced and vibrant learning environment.
