Leicester High School for Girls Partners with Spire Healthcare for Inspiring Careers Conference

Leicester High School for Girls was delighted to host colleagues from Spire Healthcare Group plc for a Careers Conference designed to showcase the many career opportunities available within healthcare.
The day began with a keynote address from Julie Condon, Deputy Director of Clinical Services at Spire Leicester, followed by four interactive sessions led by Spire’s Pathology Manager, Theatre Manager, Health & Safety Manager and Imaging team. Pupils enjoyed practical demonstrations, including the chance to handle theatre equipment, which gave them a unique insight into life behind the scenes in hospitals.
The sessions encouraged thoughtful discussion, with students asking insightful questions and receiving resources to help them explore future career pathways. The day concluded with networking opportunities for Year 12 and 13 students, who valued speaking directly with healthcare professionals about their journeys and experiences.
Andrew McMurray, Head of Science at Leicester High School for Girls, said:
“The girls really gained so much from the day. They came away inspired, full of questions, and with a much clearer understanding of the variety of roles available in healthcare. Experiences like this make a real difference in helping them think about their future pathways, and it was fantastic to see how engaged they were throughout.”
