LHS Girls Celebrate Success in Rotary Young Writer Competition

Leicester High School for Girls is celebrating outstanding success in the prestigious Rotary Young Writer competition, with students winning prizes and commendations across every category.

The competition, which encourages young people to explore their creativity through original writing, received entries from schools across the country. Students from Leicester High impressed the judges with their thoughtful, imaginative responses, and the School is proud to announce a host of award winners from Years 6 to 12.

A particular highlight was the achievement of Olivia in Year 8, who was named an Intermediate National Finalist for her exceptional work—an outstanding accolade that places her among the top young writers in the country.

In the Junior Category, Gracie (Year 6) was awarded First Place and received a book token for her winning entry. Adhya and Inaaya, also in Year 6, were commended for their contributions.

In the Intermediate Category, Gabrielle (Year 8) achieved First Place, receiving a book token for her winning entry. A number of other students were also commended for their creativity: Jane, Ekampreet, and Ameera, all in Year 8, and Saffah in Year 7.

In the Senior Category, Alys (Year 10) secured First Prize, earning a book token for her writing. Zahra (Year 10) and Sabine (Year 12) were both commended by the judges for their entries.

The School is delighted that the creative talents of its students have been recognised in such a well-regarded national competition and congratulates all those who took part.
