Sports Day 2025

Pupils at Leicester High School for Girls came together for a fantastic day of sport, teamwork and house spirit during the School’s annual Sports Day.

From exciting rounders matches and high-energy relays to fast-paced netball games, the day was a true celebration of physical wellbeing and participation. Girls across all year groups threw themselves into the events with enthusiasm, cheered on by classmates and staff.

The support from families added to the brilliant atmosphere, making it a real community occasion. A huge well done goes to Charnwood House, who were crowned winners of this year’s House Competition following a strong all-round performance.

“It was a fantastic day from start to finish,” said Head of PE Annabel Simpson. “Sports Day is about so much more than competition. It’s about promoting physical health, building confidence and encouraging every girl to take part in a supportive environment.”

Leicester High School for Girls places a strong focus on wellbeing and personal development. Events like Sports Day help pupils to develop resilience, embrace healthy habits and celebrate each other’s successes — all within an all-girls setting where they are encouraged to lead and participate without hesitation.

The School extends its sincere thanks to all staff, pupils and supporters who helped to make the day such a success.
