Students from Year 11 and Year 13 at Leicester High School for Girls came together for a memorable Prom night, celebrating the end of the school year with friends, families and staff before taking their next steps.
The evening began at the school, where students and their families gathered for drinks, canapés and photographs in the sunshine before the students and staff travelled to the Belmont Hotel for dinner and dancing. It was an opportunity for students to celebrate the end of the examination season, reflect on their time at Leicester High and make lasting memories together.
For Year 11 students, the evening marked the end of their GCSEs before many return to continue their studies in the Sixth Form. For Year 13 students, it was a chance to say goodbye to classmates and teachers as they prepare to move on to university, apprenticeships and new opportunities.
One Year 13 student said: "It was lovely to see everyone all dressed up. We've shared so much over the last few years, so it was nice to have one last evening together before we all go off and do different things.
Mark Ryman, Head of Sixth Form, said: "Prom is always a special occasion, but this year it was especially meaningful as we celebrated both our Year 11 and Year 13 students together. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying themselves, sharing memories and celebrating everything they have achieved. While we're looking forward to welcoming many of our Year 11 students back into Sixth Form, we're also saying goodbye to our Year 13s. They have made a real contribution to school life and we wish each and every one of them every success and happiness in the future."
Students considering joining Leicester High School for Girls Sixth Form this September are invited to attend our free Sixth Form Prep Day on Tuesday 11 August. The day is designed to help students prepare for the transition to A Levels, meet staff and future classmates, and begin Sixth Form with confidence.
