Leicester High School for Girls Receives Prestigious British Council International School Award
Leicester High School for Girls has been awarded the prestigious British Council International School Award in recognition of its commitment to promoting global learning and bringing the world into the classroom.
The award recognises schools that demonstrate outstanding practice in international education, helping pupils develop the knowledge, skills and cultural understanding needed to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.
The British Council praised Leicester High School for Girls' broad and well-integrated international curriculum, highlighting its strong partnership with Snehalaya English Medium School in India. Assessors commended the school's varied and meaningful international activities, recognising the positive impact they have on pupils' leadership skills, staff collaboration and wider community engagement.
One recent highlight saw a group of Sixth Form students travel to India following a year of fundraising, giving them the opportunity to experience a different culture while volunteering with local communities and supporting an international charity partner.
