Leicester High School for Girls Receives Prestigious British Council International School Award
Leicester High School for Girls has been awarded the prestigious British Council International School Award in recognition of its commitment to promoting global learning and bringing the world into the classroom.
The award recognises schools that demonstrate outstanding practice in international education, helping pupils develop the knowledge, skills and cultural understanding needed to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.
The British Council recognised Leicester High School for Girls for its wide-ranging international programme, which includes language learning, cultural celebrations, global citizenship projects, curriculum-based international activities and educational visits overseas.
One recent highlight saw a group of Sixth Form students travel to India after raising funds for the charity Snehalaya, giving them the opportunity to experience a different culture while supporting communities through international volunteering.
Headteacher John Partridge said:

The International School Award, established by the British Council in 1999, celebrates schools that successfully embed international learning throughout school life.
