Leicester High School for Girls is celebrating national recognition after being commended in the Outstanding SEND Provision category of the Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2026.
The commendation recognises the school's commitment to providing exceptional support for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring every girl has the opportunity to achieve her full potential.
At Leicester High, SEND provision is centred on understanding each student's individual strengths and needs. Through personalised support, close collaboration with families and a whole-school commitment to inclusion, pupils are empowered to grow in confidence, develop independence and flourish both academically and personally.
The recognition reflects the dedication of the school's specialist SEND team, teaching and support staff, who work together to create an environment where every girl feels valued, supported and able to succeed.
John Partridge, Headteacher at Leicester High School for Girls, said:
“Inclusivity matters because every student should have the environment, support and understanding they need to be brilliant. This commendation reflects the care and commitment of staff across the school, who work hard to understand each girl as an individual and help her to thrive.”
The Independent Schools of the Year Awards celebrate excellence across the independent education sector, recognising schools that demonstrate outstanding practice and innovation.
Leicester High School for Girls now looks forward to the announcement of the finalists in September.
