Leicester High School for Girls Opens New Dedicated Sixth Form Space

Leicester High School for Girls has unveiled a new, self-contained Sixth Form building, providing its oldest students with a dedicated space designed to encourage independence, focus, and community

Located on the school site, the building will serve as the home for Year 12 and 13 students from September onwards. The facility offers a bright and welcoming environment tailored to the needs of Sixth Formers, with quiet study areas, communal space for collaboration and relaxation, and access to support from the School’s experienced staff team.

“We’re delighted to be opening a new space that reflects the maturity and independence of our Sixth Formers,” said Mr Ryman, Head of Sixth Form. “This space gives our students the environment they need to prepare for university and beyond — while still remaining an integral part of the wider school community.”

The launch of the new Sixth Form building marks the latest phase in the School’s ongoing development to ensure its facilities reflect the high academic standards and nurturing environment for which Leicester High is known.

Leicester High offers a wide range of A-Level subjects, exceptional individual support, and tailored guidance on both university and career pathways. Its students consistently progress to leading institutions, including Oxford, Cambridge, and competitive courses in medicine, law, engineering, business, and the creative arts.

Sixth Form applications for September 2025/6 are now open. Families interested in joining the School this autumn are encouraged to contact admissions@leicesterhigh.co.uk for further information.

For those considering entry in 2026 and beyond, prospective families are warmly invited to arrange a tour or attend the School’s Open Morning on Saturday 27 September 2025.
