Leicester High School for Girls is thrilled to announce its outstanding achievement of being awarded the School Games Gold Mark for the 2022/2023 academic year. The recognition highlights the school’s commitment to providing exceptional opportunities and promoting physical education and school sports among its students.
A group of Year 12 girls recently embarked on an unforgettable residential trip to the vibrant coastal city of Brighton. The overnight trip aimed to provide the students with a unique and cultural experience outside the classroom.
Year 9 and 10 History pupils embarked on a thought-provoking and educational school trip to the Beth Shalom Holocaust Memorial Centre. The visit aimed to deepen the students' understanding of the Holocaust and its complexities while fostering empathy and awareness.
Annabel Taylor-Ross, former Head of PSHE and Careers Adviser at Blundells School, delivered a thought-provoking talk entitled "Blankets or Barriers" to Years 9 and 12 students. The talk explored the complex issues surrounding migration, race, and identity.

Congratulations to talented young chess player Amana (Year 10) who secured second place in the highly competitive Leicestershire Chess Championship, on 4 June. In addition to her silver medal, Amana won the 'overall Girls Under 16' trophy, showcasing her exceptional skills and dedication to the game.
Year 8 and Year 5 enjoyed a "Big Sister/Little Sister lunch today. They consumed rather a lot of pizza, chips and chocolate brownies! An enjoyable treat for all.
Nxt Gen Innovators are inviting students from Year 7 to 10 to join in a 3-hour online chess tournament which takes place on Monday 29th May from 1pm – 4pm.
