The English Department is thrilled to announce that the following girls have been named as winners in the Rotary Club of Leicester’s Young Writers Competition. The theme this year was ‘The Environment’.
The Leicester High School Astronomical Society in conjunction with the Leicester Astronomical Society, held a Family Astronomy Evening on Saturday 29th January which was enjoyed by around 40 staff, girls and their families.

Saturday 15 January saw the return of D of E at Leicester High after two years of postponed expeditions. 28 silver students were in School for a full-day training in preparation for their practice expedition. Miss Watson and two instructors from First 4 Adventure UK delivered the training, which included a variety of workshops; first aid, cooking on a trangia, how to put up a tent and learning about what kit and equipment is required for an expedition.
The Best Schools website has placed us in their top 100 independent schools based on A-Level performance in 2021!
Congratulations to the winning entries from the Junior Science competition.
Girls in Years 6 to 13 are invited to take part in a European day of Languages Bake-off competition and Bake-sale to raise money for Médecins sans Frontières, Rainforest Alliance and The Alice Ruggles Trust. Money raised will be split three ways.

Given the unprecedented circumstances of the last two years, it has been truly inspiring to welcome both students and members of staff back to School. The LHS community is, once again, alive, vibrant and populated with eager and engaged students and staff. I would like to reassure you that we continue to adhere to Government guidance to ensure the safety of every member of our community. Our Risk Assessment, which has been approved by Governors, is on the School website, and will be up-dated on a regular basis to reflect current Government guidance. As always, I will endeavour to keep all parents fully informed throughout the academic year.

77% of all grades achieved by girls at Leicester High School were at A* or A, an increase from 58% in 2020.
An extremely busy, if short, Summer Term of collecting house rewards ended with yesterday's Charity Afternoon.
